I will give a brief description of every exit along the New Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica. There will be a travel guide for each state that will be available for download. The descriptions will vary in depth from "No immediate services" to complex descriptions of recommended hotels and restaurants. The Illinois, Missouri, and Oklahoma sections are up.The exits will constantly be updated to add new restaurants , hotels, and attractions for all exits
Hello I am Quinn Dodson. I am a rideshare driver, people watcher, and travel writer. I love to drive and after a trip to Arizona, in which I saw the Grand Canyon, I was inspired to write an exit-by-exit guide to the New Route 66. The guide will ultimately take you from 198 S Michigan Avenue in Chicago, the starting point for Route 66, to the end of the highway in Santa Monica.
The project is currently over halfway complete so be sure to check back as we get closer to the Grand Canyon which is what I believe to be the pinnacle of this fantastic highway. Be sure to check out the city guides for recommendations on attractions, restaurants, and hotels in the cities that you will travel through on The New Route 66.
Start from 198 S Michigan Ave in Chicago where the mother road begins.
Get on I-44 in the shadows of the Gateway Arch for the second leg of the New Route 66.
Continue the trip on I-44 in the state that produced one of Route 66's favorite sons. Will Rogers
Start from 198 S Michigan Ave in Chicago where the mother road begins.
